Announcing a New Series...
New Kid's Green Favorites
With my rating juxtaposition miles away from being near Treehugger, I've got to do something major to get noticed in the blogosphere. Lacking the tekkies to handle the behind-the-scenes stuff, AND the full staff of writers employed by the large, well-capitalized blogs, I'm out to prove that us little guys can make a difference.
I've been getting more letters from readers asking me to help them with this ‘greening problem’ and that ‘organic challenge’. Most often, I finish my answer realizing that I have not helped enough. L You see, I realize that changing one small aspect of our toxic-laden lifestyle will not give you the protection you need. It takes more than that. It takes a commitment to major change, and this is often cumbersome for most people, particularly when they don't know which products to try.
My own journey in this direction is still a work in progress. Yet I have learned a great deal about making it easier, and it’s time to start rolling up my sleeves and getting down to the business of real HELP. More than writing about it, I can help my readers redesign their lifestyle choices, creating a healthier outlook in the process.
When one reader requested some tips on getting started, I referred her to a post on Organic Journey Online, where I described the process there. Looking back, that didn’t do the job either. It was too focused on organic foods, and did not delve into the areas of personal and household products that can be so deadly in residues.
A lightbulb moment finally flickered and I’ve hatched a plan to offer a few FREE personalized makeovers. I’m not talking about spending thousands on solar power systems, wind turbines, or even buying an electric car. Simply put, I’ll gather information on your daily life through an interview (via email) and offer a plan to easily and cheaply move toward a toxin-free home.
My pledge is to try to keep the overall costs as close to what you already spend on the same products and services, as I possibly can. You may wonder how this is possible. Isn’t everything in the organic world more expensive? No! If it was, I’d have trouble going this route also. But, then, I have had cancer and am living with MS. My motivations may be very different from yours. That will be part of the interview. Each plan will be prepared with the unique needs and priorities of your family involved.
Want to get in on this action? Here’s the deal. I can only manage to do a few of these makeovers. This will be very time consuming for me, but I also know it will teach me a great deal. Each of your unique situations will bring new challenges for me to tackle and learn from.
While I will share your story and your makeover in a post, your identity will remain completely confidential. No names, no photos, no personally identifying information.
So the offer is out now. If you’re interested in having a FREE Green Family Makeover your next step is to send me an email at CarrieLeaJohnson@gmail.com. Include a note in the subject line: “Green Makeover”, and tell me a little about why you think I should do YOUR green makeover. Who’s first? The line forms here: CarrieLeaJohnson@gmail.com.
